Back in Colorado!!
Yeah, I know this must be confusing, but I'm back in Colorado. Yeah, I know that I just reported that I was back in Austin after living in Colorado and now I'm announcing that I'm back in Denver after living in Austin. Well, I'm here....get over it! :) I know, I'm horrible about keeping my blog updated.

A Day In Austin! - Part 2 (Little City)

After Starseeds, Todd and I were off to our next stop, Little City! Little City is right dab smack in front of the Texas State Capitol. Todd had some work stuff to do (boring) and I needed to book the excursion we are going to experience when the cruise ship docks at Cozumel. Cruise Ship you ask? I know I'm doing everything out of order, but I will try to get to that later. Probably after we get back from the cruise. I'll be going with my friend Tyler from Colorado, his girlfriend and Todd. Anyways, back to Little City. The clientel at Little City during the day are usually business people and students it seems. At night, it become a little more diverse... Nice little cafe, and great for hanging out with friends. The internet was slow, so we didn't stay long, but I did learn that water tastes a heck of a lot better out of a glass bottle compared to a plastic one.

I'm Back!!! The MOVE - Part 2

It was only going to be a 2 week vacation in Texas followed by a couple of nights in the Mtns. skiing, but I believe fate began to take control and I slowly began to realize that my days in Colorado were numbered...and it was not a two digit number. I spent some times with my parents in Oklahoma and then I was headed to Dallas to stay with friends there, then to Corpus Christi to see my grandparents and others on my mother's side of the family, and then back to Austin where I would hangout with old roommate (soon to be current roommate) all before heading back to Oklahoma and then to Colorado. Well, the very minute I was crossing the Red River into Texas, I received a voice mail message which signaled a call I didn't realize I had missed. The call was from Marty Litchfield, the Clinical Director at Pegasus Schools, Inc. who wanted to interview me for a therapist position there in Lockhart, Tx. Well, I had just signed a lease on an apartment, was loving Colorado, and definitely didn't want to leave during one of the best ski seasons ever. I told him all this (well, not all) and told him I would still like to talk to him about the position should another opening come up in 6 mos. or so. So, that is what I did, I went to Lockhart on my way to Corpus Christi. I toured the facility and was offered 30% more than I was currently making and Austin/Lockhart cost of living was a LOT cheaper than it is in Denver. After talking to him about the job and all that it entails, he told me to let him know if I changed my job and was willing to move back to Texas immediately. This is when all the intense praying and thinking began.

Goodbye Papa!

Leon Dorrough, my grandfather, passed away last Wednesday. I was told that he died laughing. I don't care if it is true or not, that's what I want to remember. The funeral was Saturday, December 9 @ 1:00 pm. I got to sing the Brad Paisley song, 'When I Get To Where I'm Going.' My dad and I also put together a picture slide show on the computer which was projected onto a screen while I sang. It was a stressful weekend, but I wouldn't trade it for anything - I was glad to do that for my grandfather...Here are two pictures of him. One recent one and one of him when he married my grandmother...I think they had been married close to 60 years...wow. That's something to be proud of. My grandmother is alone now and I can't even begin to imagine what that must be like for her!!! Please keep her and the rest of the family in your prayers.

The Crown Vic.

Now that I have a JEEP, I need to get rid of my other car. I got this car from my grandfather back in 2004 shortly before he and my grandfather and grandmother moved into a nursing home. The Crown Victoria is in good shape and has less than 63K miles on it...If I was being practical, I would have kept the Crown Vic and not bought the Jeep. But, why would I want to do that? Being practical isn't fun!!!! If you are interested in buying my car, call me at 512 623 9923. Again, it's a 2000, has less than 63K miles on it, and I am selling it for $6500 OBO (or best offer).

A London Weekend...

It was definitely a last minute decision. My friend Kerry, who has been working in the UK since early Summer found out that she would be moving back to Seattle in December. I had told her that I wanted to visit her, but now I had to hurry if I was going to make it happen. My roommate was already planning to head to London the last weekend in October (2006) and now I was going too. It's funny, we both left the same day, took separate airlines, saw each other only a short time, and both spent a majority of the weekend with our seperate American friends who have both been living in London. I had a great time with Kerry, she is a hoot and a lot of fun to hang around with . I am positive she will be mentioned in many more future blog posts.

FUN....

I have always wanted one but they always seemed out of reach. Even though I would have gotten more use from one in Colorado, I finally bought what I have always wanted...a Jeep. I am not going to say it was the best financial decision I ever made, but I just couldn't walk away, it was love at first sight! :) The last weekend in September (2006) I decided I wouldn't go home that weekend and would leave work on a Friday afternoon and head to Fredricksburg, TX. I went there to stay at a Bed and Breakfast, learn how to fly fish, get a massage, and enjoy the restraunts and shops there in Fredricksburg. Well...things are never that simple. It was when I was driving around town that I saw this red Jeep Wrangler sitting in a show room at Crenwelge Motors. I found that it had been sitting there since 2005. I did my best trying to talk the price down, but they wouldn't bite. One month later, after giving up on the Jeep, I received a call from Crenwelge stating that they were willing to take the price down $1,000.00. I took this as a sign (it wouldn't have taken much to make me cave) and quickly jumped on the offer...a week later I was driving to Fredricksburg with Todd to pick up the Jeep and haven't regreted it a bit...I love it and I'm so glad that I made this decision. Now, does anyone want to buy my Crown Victoria???
